Jazz Legends in Town

Yes, you heard it right. Little ol’ Ottawa will be hosting some of the best Jazz musicians in the world in the next few days and I’m going to be there front and center. Although I don’t plan to go to as many Jazz Festival concerts as Bluesfest ones I do plan to see some of the bigger names.

If you’re a jazz fan, when the likes of Branford Marsalis and Cesaria Evora show up in town you can’t help but show up. And as a fan I’ll be there tonight, rain or no rain, to watch Branford Marsalis, brother of another jazz great Wyntom Marsalis.

Also in the list of must watch are Pink Martini, Cesaria Evora and Brazil’s owm Bebel Gilberto. Although I’m really excited about all of these concerts the number one in my list is probably Bebel. She was supposed to play at Bluesfest a few years back but had to cancel which was quite disappointing. Considering this year she’s a headliner I doubt that is going to happen again. The night will be that much nicer because I’ll be there with Sera and my parents celebrating our 11th year in Canada, hurray!!
